So…One night in 2008 I was listening to a local dance music station and ‘Rolex’ by Wiley (MBE) came on…It completely blew my mind on several levels (first time I’d heard it)
He had sampled DSK ‘What Would We Do’ from 1991, one of my favourite tunes of the day back then. Still love it, still stands the test, classic. Shut up 😉😎🎯💯

He had skilfully taken the best elements of House, a classic sample that youth maybe wouldn’t know…New audiences, respectfully and artistically presented; very positive 💯❤️🔥
Wiley is best known as a British Hip-Hop, Grime, U.K. Garage, Drum & Bass Producer…So…he proved him self as a PROPER MUSIC PRODUCER.

Genres. Only for the NARROW MINDS. Music is good for the soul. So tuck in, guilty pleasure included 😉😎❤️
So, at the time, I was talking 100% time out of ‘House’ music production as I’d completely burned out, but I still ❤️ music…dilemma. However, I still had my lovely studio in South East London. and via my socials, hooked up with an ultra talented MC called Kay Young from Lewisham, London.

Long story short, I sped up a track I’d recorded a few years earlier called ‘Joose’ (Caucasian Boy) and gave the new, faster version to Kay. Within 48 hours Kay who said she’d been up for over 48 hours working on the lyrics and recording them at home, (proper work bleaching!!!) Knocked on my door with the memory stick of her vocals. I was stunned, frankly.
I did release the tune when I’d finished it, but I was well out of the game in 2008. It completely sunk without trace.
Personally, I think it still sounds VERY relevant. It’s 100% authentic (can’t stand that word, but…) (South) LONDON teenager flava with zero interference. From the heart, recorded at home by a phuture legend.
This TOTALLY represents MY culture, MY vibes, MY ends. Enjoy 😎🎶❤️🎯🔥✡️🇯🇲☮️✊😉😎
🔥💯IMPORTANT PS…. The Bassline was 1000% influenced by Paul Trouble Anderson - he used to play a really bizarre White label with mad samples (Bros, the two brother singers, seriously!) and THIS bassline. I was inspired SO much by that tune…PTA ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎯✊
